When riding a bicycle, it is important to follow safety precautions. Always wear a properly fitted helmet and make sure your bike is in good working order with proper reflectors. Obey all traffic signs and signals to indicate turns. Ride in the same direction as traffic and stay as far to the right as possible. Use bike lanes when available. Stay visible with bright clothing and lights, especially at dawn, dusk, and night. Following basic safety rules can help ensure an enjoyable ride for both you and those around you.  For more tips, visit the National Safety Council website.
